The Vested model - In Conversation with Wendy Cuthbert, Head of Global Workplace Solutions for BP, and Ardell Bunt, Head of Client solutions EMEA for JLL.
EP were delighted to discuss the importance and implication of the Vested model with Wendy Cuthbert, Head of Global Workplace Solutions for BP, and Ardell Bunt, Head of Client solutions EMEA for JLL.
One of the top illustrations of the Vested approach has been the outsourcing project conducted by BP and led by Wendy Cuthbert, Head of Global Workplace Solutions, working with both JLL and Incendium Consulting. Wendy has long been a major player in the sector having previously been with Barclays so it was fascinating to explore her reasoning for breaking from normal procurement process and embracing the Vested approach.
What tempted her to go this route? What were her experiences and learnings from the process? Does she believe she found the results she was hoping for?
An interesting point raised during the conversation was that with the use of virtual meetings, more people were able to be involved in the discussion from both organisations and at all levels which allowed for greater understanding and development than was previously possible. Many argue that you cannot build relationships via virtual platforms but this examples show that a different perspective and advantage for great learning. Ardell Bunt is equally as experienced and has become a strong advocate for Vested.
As we emerge from the pandemic, many believe there will be a greater desire for collaboration and new ways of working. Others argue however that business will revert to pre pandemic ways, what do you think? This may be true but it will still take a real shift in thinking which will only happen with high profile examples such as BP.
We hope you enjoy the interview. It does leave much to consider.
