UK Q4 GDP growth 0.5%
  • UK gross domestic product (GDP) was estimated to have increased by 0.5% in Quarter 4 (Oct to Dec) 2017, compared with 0.4% in Quarter 3 (July to Sept) 2017.
  • GDP was estimated to have increased by 1.8% between 2016 and 2017, slightly below the 1.9% growth seen between 2015 and 2016.
  • The business services and finance sector continued to be the main driver of growth in services in the latest quarter, increasing by 0.8%
  • Distribution, hotels and catering grew by 0.1%
  • Therefore whilst the broad economy was relatively robust the Hospitality sector effectively stood still.
