One of London’ most hotly anticipated new hotels is ready to launch - Chateau Denmark to open on 4th April

Denmark Street is a place where, over the years, publishers, musicians, studios and guitar shops all had homes. Some call it the home of Rock n Roll. The Rolling Stones recorded at Regent Sound Studio at No. 4 and popular musicians, including David Bowie and the Small Faces, often socialised in the Gioconda café at No. 9. Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote songs at offices on the street in the 1960s, while the Sex Pistols lived above No. 6, and recorded their first demos there. The comic book store Forbidden Planet and the Helter Skelter music bookshop have also been based on the street. It is truly part of London’s history and as of April, will now boast an unique and bespoke hotel operation.

It has been quite a journey for Carrie Wicks and Caw Ventures but the date of opening for Chateau Denmark has now been announced. The new hotel is set across 16 buildings, with 55 session rooms and apartments featuring distinct design narratives reflecting each building’s history.

Carrie Wicks is a well known figure across the London Hotel Market. She has long had an exciting vision for the hotel as it has come to life. Knowing Carrie she will look for many new ways for creating a new hospitality experience which will make Chateau Denmark become a destination in its own right.

After what has been a challenging and torrid two years for the industry, it is good to once again start writing about new stories on hospitality; and there is much which is going to be new about Chateau Denmark. The hotel is reported to have a new take on the traditional butler with the individual team ready to meet any rhythm. The hotel will also be a platform for many of the City’s talented artists and has been working hard on creating new service levels to really create an experience for guests.

The Now Building is the largest of Outernet London’s immersive spaces. Its north-facing public atrium will feature the largest LED screens anywhere in the world. In addition, The Now Building’s top floor will become home for Tattu’s first London site. Furthermore, there will be a new lounge and basement club, along with fitness and wellness studios, shops, a recording studio and event spaces. It should be very special.

Our best wishes to Carrie and her team as she launches Chateau Denmark.
