Gelato Festival at Spitalfields Market: 26th – 28th June

11

The Gelato Festival 2015 is a vibrant celebration of authentic Italian gelato and is coming to London for the first time later this month. The festival is a huge success in Italy, having run for six years following its humble beginnings in Florence, known as the home of gelato.

London is more cosmopolitan by the week, and the home of cuisines from around the world. It is incredibly satisfying to have one of the best gelato festivals come to the capital, as part of a thriving hospitality sector. The festival will provide a memorable experience and leave a lasting impression on all those who attend, if and supported by a local and visiting audience will add to the likelihood of future important events in the area.

Gelato masters from Italy will be sourcing local ingredients for their flavoursome ice-cream. The group includes talented Italians who travel the world presenting their delicious gelato, as well as those now based in London. They are passionate about their frozen treats and take inspiration from a heritage dating back centuries.

EP is proud to support the Gelato Festival and wants to help exciting ventures such as this, which bring delicious food and a touch of international culture. By supporting touring food festivals the hospitality industry can benefit from not only a high-quality scoop but the chance to enhance tourism in the UK.

The Gelato Festival usually attracts around 40,000 visitors and is a great opportunity to showcase some of the best in the industry. So far in 2015 alone it has toured in Turin, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, Nice and is now on its way to London.

The Festival will roll into Old Spitalfields Market on Friday 26th June and remain in residence until Sunday 28th June, with the gelatieri creating all the fresh gelato in specially converted trucks onsite. It will be running from 10am to 8pm each day.

Guests can buy a gelato card in advance or on the day, which gives them five gelato samples, plus a sixth if they vote for their favourite. They can also buy by the scoop.
