A unique venue, a unique partnership
The Francis Crick Institute, London is a remarkable biomedical research institute due to open in its own state of the art building next to St Pancras later this year. Once complete, the venue will realise a unique partnership between six of the UK’s most successful scientific and academic institutions to create a world leading centre for research in order to find new ways to treat, diagnose, and prevent illnesses. With such an illustrious mix of institutions coming together, it was only right that the catering, hospitality services and management should be provided by an equally unique and stand-alone service provider – Graysons.Comprising a contract thought to be worth in excess of £6 million over a 3 year period, Graysons will manage a 300 cover staff restaurant for 1,500 people on site, as well as a staff café. Alongside the food-service operations, they will also provide hospitality services for meeting rooms and events in the exhibition space and auditorium in tandem with a public café, supporting the Crick’s inclusive public engagement ethos. The award of the contract follows an extensive tendering process over the past six months involving many of the top caterers in Central London and comes shortly after Graysons other recent wins at the Chartered Insurance Institute and Christ Church Spitalfields.Matt Thomas, Head of Soft FM at The Francis Crick Institute said
“We put together a very rigorous and challenging tender process in order to find a catering partner who has the same ethos, vision, and quality as the institute. We are delighted to be working with Graysons who have shown a real passion and commitment to the project right through the tender process and who have such a great ethos of quality fresh ingredients and bespoke services for their clients.’’A comment to which Simona Oproiu, Business Development Director added
“This is such an amazing contract for us, to work with such passionate and great people who have such vision and who want their catering services to be modern and fresh and innovative. We are so proud to have secured the contract and to be a partner for the Crick and it cements our strategy for growth in the business and industry sector in Central London’’.Another positive win for the team at Graysons – things really are on the move!
