The Story of Hattie Mauleverer
At the end of 2019, Hattie Mauleverer was on cloud nine. She had just won Best Small Caterer at The London Catering Awards 2019, the business was flying and she had big plans for 2020 and beyond.
In August 2020, Hattie was forced to put her catering company of 14 years Top Hat Catering Ltd into voluntary insolvency. COVID19 stopped everything and she just couldn't afford to carry on. It is a sad story replicated all across the industry. The above video tells the story of her year and also how she became a leading voice in championing the events sector. She has become a face of the sector being interviewed on Sky and the BBC amongst others.
However, she is fighting back and reinventing herself; now back in business as Hattie Mauleverer – Event and catering Specialist who can represent clients in organising of great events. Many believe that there will be a strong appetite for clients to once again engage both internal and external audiences through events and Hattie’s expertise could be invaluable.
Hattie figured that with all the experience she had gathered and the incredible contacts she had made over the years she could team up with some of the absolute best caterers and event service providers in the business to provide new solutions.
Together they have consolidated their ideas, their talents and strengths to combine their efforts in offering the bespoke event services. She will also be promoting hand picked and highly recommended suppliers to further enhance events including specialist lighting companies, table designers, musicians and theatrical providers, marquee and hiring companies, staffing agencies, even fancy dress seamstresses and other innovative furnishing companies.
There is a real desire to work for all these companies to work together as they fight to back on their feet. 2021 could really be the age of alliances; companies working together to help one another. Hattie has shown great courage and resilience during the toughest of years and has a desire to build a new business that really makes a difference.
