"The Chairman's' Luncheon at The All England Lawn Tennis Club - Wimbledon"

In his capacity as Secretary of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Martin Guntrip, in partnership with John Parker, Operations Director, hosted the "Chairman's' Luncheon" earlier this week at the world-renowned Wimbledon Tennis Grounds.

Regaled with the history of the Club through to plans for redesign and updating, attendees at this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity were treated to a private lunch in the Rolex Suite and a walk-on Centre Court! Through the course of the afternoon, guests were entertained with a pop-quiz on the history of tennis (Do YOU know when shorts were first worn on Centre Court?) and a spectacular lunch of smoked salmon, rack of lamb and bread & butter pudding. Affording guests the opportunity to meet the team and know more about the venue and its back-story, many attendees learned first-hand of the military precision with which "The Championships" are operated and the relative calm that descends for the "other" 50 weeks of the year.

"Next month we're hosting a wedding reception, at which Andy Murray is Best Man, then there's the charity events, gala dinners, members' luncheons and private breakfasts to attend to – as well as the enthusiastic members who want no more than to improve their game and enjoy the surroundings! There is no such thing as 'normal' at Wimbledon!"

Having invited this illustrious group of hospitality professionals and industry stalwarts to such a prestigious and well-known venue was the pleasure of the entire team at EP.
