Given it's Friday the 13th and tomorrow is Valentine's Day, EP brings you a short synopsis of some lucky (in love) and unlucky (in love) stories from around the world!
- In France, after hearing footsteps coming towards his apartment door, a hapless drug dealer threw his stash of cannabis out of the window only for it to land in the hands of police passing by!
- Taking "speed dating" to a whole new level, some men were set up on a blind date with a pretty girl. After enjoying coffee, at the end of each date she would invite the unsuspecting man to go for a drive in her new Mustang - unbeknownst to them, however, the car was rigged with cameras, and the girl was a professional stunt driver... cue lots of screaming!
- Meanwhile, there are "tails of romance" blossoming around the UK after the first doggie speed-dating event was held in Cardiff. With 20 pups taking part, the organisers are hoping to make it the first of an annual series of "canine courtship" events
- Up from 48% last year, 53% of international companies with offices in China have cited pollution as the main factor in their struggle to recruit top executives from abroad
- It's believed that a long-running family feud is the reason a man was shot & killed at a wedding in Ireland. Determined to celebrate the union of the 16 year old bride & groom, the Traveller communities involved continued with the reception regardless!
- Attack of the Clones! A woman in South Korea was left sporting a new shorter 'do, after being roused from a nap by an automatic hoover "eating" her hair. Unable to free herself from its grip, she called emergency services for help, and was only released when firemen cut her hair at the scalp!
- Having accidentally had their photo taken together at the tender age of 4, and not seeing one another since, two Jiangsu locals are now set to marry after being set up on a (successful) blind date 23 years after first meeting
- It seems that of all nations on earth, Belgians are the most superstitious as 4 out of 10 admit to having certain "travel rules" compared to less than 1-in-10 Germans. That being said, Brits are the most superstitious when it comes to sitting on a certain side of the vehicle whereas only 20% of Austrians take heed at all!
- With mere hours left to find the perfect Valentines gift for your loved one, perhaps it's time to consider heart-shaped mittens, called "smittens"? Or what about Star Wars "I love you" - "I know" hand towels? If you're looking for something extraordinarily "personal", how about a bracelet made from your own hair?!
- And finally, combining Valentine's and bad luck on Friday 13th, Joseph Iomie has ended up with a criminal record after falsely reporting his $2,000 golf clubs had been stolen from his car. When Sheriffs searched the vehicle, the bag & clubs were quickly found and Mr Iomie was forced to admit he's lied in the hope his wife would buy him new clubs for Valentines!
