- In other photography-related stories, "The Shenzhen Evening News" has incurred the wrath of a Nation after "journalists" posed as hospital staff and broke into an operating theatre to photograph the dead body of a much-loved pop star while it was being prepared for organ transplant!
- Seemingly extolling the virtues of the suggestion "No publicity is bad publicity", a spoof "Visit Barnsley" Twitter account has been credited with attracting 400,000+ views to the official Council-run account for the "Pound Shop Capital of the North"
- A recent examination of regimes around the world observes that the UK government is the most open and transparent while Mali, Haiti and Burma languish at the bottom of the table
- With such keen observations as "The humidity of water is extremely high" a new weather app has been launched with an agenda to provide Real Weather, Real Funny combining accurate predictions with original comedy
- In Florida a 9-month old baby was tragically shot & killed by his toddler brother when their parents inadvertently left a loaded gun in the car during a house move
- Scientists have discovered a new species of legless snake in Cambodia. Naming it Ichthyophis cardamomensis, the amphibian measures only 30cm in length
- ET phone home! In Australia, Swinburne University PhD student Emily Petroff has become the first person to witness & record a burst of radio waves, which are thought to have travelled billions of light years from "a Galaxy far, far away"!?
- A group of divers were unfortunately drowned in a 30m "poonado" while trying to take photos of a group of sperm whales off the Dominican Coast
- If you think you're having a bad week then be grateful you haven't had one as bad as Mr. Gao in China who wanted to celebrate the purchase of his new car - though instructed not to by the security team, he set fire to 8 firecrackers and ended up causing over $112,000 worth of damage when a row of shops all went up in smoke!
