Sport, Leadership & Culture 26th June 2018First Speakers Announced We are delighted to announce that two professional English rugby union players will be joining us for our 'Sport, Leadership & Culture' evening on Tuesday 26th June.Danielle “Nolli” Waterman (right) and Heather Fisher (below), both England rugby sevens players, will share stories on their experiences as top athletes and top professional players. The evening is the next in a series of relaxed events where, over wine and canapés, EP brings together the community for insight and knowledge share on leadership and development. It is no secret that in many industries and businesses there is a lack of trust, positive culture and a meandering focus on productivity and employee well-being.There does need to be a focus towards the development of talent and to broaden thinking. We can all learn from different sectors and cultures - especially from the world of sport which does have a different mind-set and approach. These talks are being kindly sponsored by IndiCater and The Sporting Wine Club who believe in the need to share experiences on leadership and the fascinating insight is being kindly hosted by Sanlam UK.Welcome Kate HaywoodEP are delighted to announce that Kate Haywood, former elite swimmer who competed for Great Britain in the Olympics, has joined the EP team.Kate has represented her country at many championships and was the youngest swimmer to represent England in the Commonwealth Games and overcame the challenges that athletes face - missing out on qualification, injury, as well as dealing with being awarded titles such as BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.EP is a strong believer in freeing up talent. In today's fast-paced modern world talent must be supported and developed. Kate brings a different experience and background and can only add value to the work EP completes in leadership and development. It is no secret that there are some very serious debates taking place at board level and within many businesses. Whether the concerns over productivity, a lack of trust within organisations, the changing role of HR and an increase in narrow thinking. Some argue that behaviours are falling and trust must be brought back - this is where the experiences and knowledge from other cultures and industries are of such great importance. Culture and people are essential and little beats friendship, trust and great teams.Kate can be reached on Kate.Haywood@epmagazine.co.uk
