What is Social Good?
Social Good is when businesses and people aim to give back, enrich communities and contribute to society. Those who lead them and those who work for them make a difference by tackling social and environmental problems. It's not about how much is raised, it's about making an impact - no matter how big or small.
What is Hospitality Social Good?
Recognising, supporting and rewarding business who make a special difference. As well as raising the profile, challenging others to think and act differently and to make a meaningful difference.
Just some recent examples:- Rosewood London campaigned for Great Ormond Street over festive season with Mini Wishes which included Farther Christmas travelling around London in a red Mini convertible giving out Christmas wishes.
- Beyond Food, situated at Brigade, delivers professional training programmes for adults who have experienced, or are at risk of, homelessness.
- Sodexo have partnered with Ways into Work to try and improve employment outcomes for young people with disabilities.
- Change Please is empowering the homeless community by training them to be baristas.
What are the Hospitality Social Good Awards?EP has vast experience in creating and hosting events of all shapes and sizes. From dinner parties for ten to conferences for 200 or more, EP runs an average of 75 events a year.In the summer EP aims to produce a ‘Hospitality Social Good Awards’ to raise awareness around the positive impact businesses can have on society and communities.
Award CategoriesCategory 1 – Hospitality Social Good of the Year: For a business that has an executed a vision, made real impact and has also demonstrated and promoted Social Good.
Category 2 – Unusual Partnership: For two or more businesses which have come together for some form of Social Good and despite competition, differences or objectives.
Category 3 – The Social Good Communicator: For a business that can demonstrate and communicate their impact with their community.
Category 4 – Community Builder: For a business that has made efforts within its own company and remit to create more opportunities for Social Good in the community and society.
Category 5– Social Good Leader: For an individual who has demonstrated clear leadership for a social, environmental or community impact.
Category 6 – Social Good Young Leader: For an individual, aged up to 30, who has demonstrated clear leadership for a social, environmental or community impact.
Category 7 – Supplier Social Good: For a business that produces or delivers a product or service to hospitality businesses that makes Social Good impact.
Category 8 – Environmental Social Good: For a business demonstrating green and environmental impact.
Category 9 – Technology Social Good: For a business that uses technology to achieve a Social Good impact.
Category 10 – Invisible Hero: For someone working in the business who represents excellence in Social Good but isn’t always recognise or known for what they do. Making them visible heroes.
Category 11 – International Power: For a business working internationally and making impact in Social Good in other countries.
Category 12 – Ground-Breaking: For a locally rooted business that has transformed their community in a new way.
Category 13 – One to Watch: For a hospitality business that can clearly articulate their future Social Good vision and how they are going to achieve it.
