The structure of the programme provides access to industry leaders and develops the skill-set of successful managers to support their transition into high performing senior leaders.tom-healyTom Healy, Senior Vice President of Asset Management, Strategic Hotels & Resorts is part of the inaugural cohort. He said the programme had been influential in securing a recent promotion:“Stepping into a learning environment, away from the day-to-day routine, has given me a new perspective. Developing ideas with the other participants and the academics is immensely useful and many of the ideas formulated in the classroom have made it back to the office. On a daily basis I use what I’ve learned in emails, conversations and in developing strategy for the future of Strategic Hotels and Resorts.”angela-vickersAngela Vickers, Managing Director at Apex Hotels said the course was helping to change the face of her business:“The Executive Masters has directly influenced our strategy for the years ahead allowing Apex, as an independent hotel chain, to hold its own and compete with the major hotel brands. Studying with fellow hospitality professionals from around the world has given me a real opportunity to network, share experiences and gain international knowledge. Coming back to the classroom after such a long time away has been quite demanding at times but fellow participants and academics have always been on hand to offer support.” alan-wilsonProfessor Alan Wilson, Academic Director, from Strathclyde Business School said:“The first year has been extremely well received - we attracted a strong international presence in 2012 and have already secured the interest of three major hotel groups for the intake of 2013. The introduction of our scholarships is a welcome addition and something that should make this course even more appealing to businesses looking to invest in developing their staff for future leadership roles.”For more information on the scholarship please visit the SBS website while full details of the Executive Masters is available here.
