The new gallery at Melia White House

Contemporary art gallery Le Dame, originally based in London’s Notting Hill, has made the exciting announcement that they will be opening a brand new gallery on Tuesday 5th May showcasing a variety of exhibitions throughout the year.

The gallery will be a permanent fixture in the Albany Foyer of the Melia White House Hotel next to Regent’s Park, the ideal partner for Le Dame with its 2000 square metres of beautiful exhibition space and gorgeous park location.

No strangers to fantastic exhibitions, earlier this year Le Dame organised ARTROOMS2015, a new international contemporary art fair dedicated to independent artists. For the occasion, they turned the entire first floor of Melia White House (76 rooms) into a giant exhibition space. Each artist was given a room to display their works and to re-create their own personal environment. The idea was to make the pieces more accessible to guests and create a more memorable experience. The fair enjoyed great success and Le Dame is now working towards the second event in early 2016.

Le Dame opened their first gallery in Notting Hill in 2013, and after only a year were successful enough to transfer to a bigger location. They moved to the Level Lounge at Melia and a few months later, artworks were displayed in several public areas of the hotel.

With strong connections in both Italy and the UK, Le Dame specialises in scouting the finest young and established artists from all over the world, and displays a unique variety of mediums, including paintings, sculptures and handmade functional art. With an overarching ethos of beauty and aesthetics, the gallery’s exhibitions are elegant and varied, with something for everyone.

The new exhibition program is curated by Miguel Mallol. With a degree in History of Art from the University of Valencia and from the Lancaster University, he spent 6 years in Venice where he collaborated with several artists. He also worked for Querini Stampalia Foundation, the Spanish Pavillion and Matteo Lo Greco Art Gallery. In Spain he worked at MUVIM, Valencia, and since in London he has been working at ARTROOMS2015 and Le Dame Art Gallery among other projects.
