Life with purpose is the beating heart of leadership
“There are basically two types of people. People who accomplish things, and people who claim to have accomplished things. The first group is less crowded.” (Mark Twain)
This year, we are delighted to be partnering in a new initiative to work with leading schools across the country with the aim to once again place the importance of leadership into the minds of 16-18-year-olds.
This last year has seen leaders being able to free themselves to lead once again against the most difficult of backdrops. Many have watched closely which leaders have been visible and those whose voices have been absent. There are leaders who have seen their businesses erode, felt helpless to prevent it and yet come out with greater respect for how they acted in the worst of times.
As we aim to rebuild, it is important to make sure that future generations are inspired to want to strive to make a difference, live careers with purpose and strive to be the best they can be.
Ask most leaders, they may be bruised but they will not swap their time as a leader for anything. The leadership had lost respect and become something less aspirational for many.
We have fortunate to have the support of many great figures from across all industries and disciplines who want to work with us to emphasise the importance of leadership. We are fortunate to have industry partners who want to support this goal.
Just as we love working with the Emerging Leaders Network, so now we want to make sure that the young see leadership as an important part of their future ambitions. It also helps develop life skills in the young to make sure they are prepared for their futures.
