Chocolate is a superfood! Introducing entrepreneur and business woman Galia Orme…

Posted on March 2019

Introducing entrepreneur and business woman Galia Orme who has taken her intense passion for chocolate and developed it into a successful business called CHOC CHICK.

CHOC CHICK offers organic raw cacao ingredients, superfood cacao blends, raw chocolate making kits and cacao based healthy snacks in over 600 stores worldwide. All snacks are certified vegan and organic as well as being gluten and diary free.

All CHOC CHICK ingredients are sourced ethically and directly from cooperatives in Ecuador and Peru which Galia has personally visited and developed close relationships with.

Born in South America, Galia is a bit of a globe trotter but has been settled in the UK since 2002. Her previous work experience has been varied, to say the least! From studying law, to working in marketing communications for the high-tech industry in Israel and the USA, volunteering in the UK with trafficked young women, singing in an obscure rock band, to business development for an internet marketing company in Brighton.

After turning 40 and deciding it was finally time to do something she really loved (a toss between being a rock chick or a choc chick), a chance discovery of raw chocolate making lead to months of recipe developments and the launch of her range of dairy free chocolate making kits and organic cacao ingredients online in 2009.

By 2010 she was stocked in retailers across the UK and Europe and in 2011 Galia made her first of many visits to Ecuador to source her organic cacao ingredients directly and meet the farmers and growers that now supply CHOC CHICK. In 2018 she launched her new range of vegan, dairy free and gluten free chocolate snacks that she developed in Ecuador and Peru and a fresh new look and branding for CHOC CHICK has been revealed that better reflects the new products and direction.

CHOC CHICK organic cacao products can be found online and in over 600 retailers, farm shops and delis throughout the UK and over 200 international retailers including; Ocado, Asda, Holland & Barrett (UK, Ireland, Benelux and Sweden), Whole Foods Market UK, Sourced Market, John Lewis Foods Halls, Selfridges, Amnesty International, Eden Project, Mega Mart (UAE).
