A collaboration which can only help all – between the corporate and the innovator

It has long been noted that the corporate needs the innovators and entrepreneurs to constantly challenge them to improve and vice versa, the innovators need the corporates to help them grow. This has long been an alliance, or collaboration, that has long been important and successful.

The economy traditionally thrives when entrepreneurs are able to prosper. SMEs account for 99.9% of the business population (6 million businesses). SMEs account for three-fifths of the employment and around half of the turnover in the UK private sector. Total employment in SMEs was 16.8 million (61% of the total), whilst turnover was estimated at £2.3 trillion (52%).

By comparison, in 2020, large businesses in the UK employed over 9.5 million people, over a third of the 27 million people that worked in the UK private sector.

The two do go together and one of our objectives, in 2021, is to highlight the really groundbreaking entrepreneurs that we are working within the hope that we can nurture the importance of how established companies can help the new and small build themselves. We will have to work for one another, collaborate, and build strategic alliances as it will make us all stronger as we do re-emerge.

It is so important that we stand up for the entrepreneurs as this will have been a brutal and challenging time for each of them; only those who have good products and services will have come through.
