Do you think there has been a shift in perception regarding IFM companies and single-service catering companies?
I believe so, clients are more interested in combining services to take a more joined approach to their requirements and this is driving a perception change in the market place, through the demonstration of service excellence. In addition, the idea that single service excellence can be achieved in an IFM company is a reality for me and my customers and so from my point of view YES!
Is the contract catering sector is well-represented as a choice at university?
Within ISS we work hard to convey our message to emerging talent in all sectors, through University (our graduate scheme) apprenticeships, our support of the LLW I really feel that we are focussed on improving perception and being an employer of choice at University and for those that do not choose to enter via this route.
What have ISS Food & Hospitality been working on for the rest of this year that is exciting for you?
For me, we launch a collection of seasonal menus in a hard back book, entitled The White Collection, these books showcase the seasons best food and our most talented chefs, our next edition celebrating Autumn is launched in early September and I cannot wait to see the photographs and more importantly taste the food! We also have our Chef of the Year competition in September, the first one for Food and Hospitality, we are holding the competition at Leeds College and the students we are working with in our Academy of Excellence will be supporting the competitors exciting things ahead!
